#10 Food

This is a delayed challenge due to a busy week at our home, but hopefully you can still sneak in some building time and get something done by Sunday.

Our challenge this week is Food as defined below:

"any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink, or that plants absorb, in order to maintain life and growth."

Feel free to submit your favorite meal on a plate if you feel so inspired.

#9 Habitat

Last week we made creatures, and this week we will make a Habitat.
A habitat is:
The place or type of place where a plant or animal naturally or normally lives or grows.

You don't need to make the habitat of your creature, but you can if you want to.

Any scene or "home" for any animal or plant will do.

I'm loving the "creatures" we got this week.
Everything from cute and cuddly to cool and creepy.
I'll let you decide which is which.
Nice work guys.

#8 Creature

This weeks challenge is fairly open to personal interpretation.
We will use the Merriam Webster dictionary definition as follows:

Creature: an animal of any type. : an imaginary or very strange kind of animal

I can't wait to see how you use this challenge.

Maximum Height

Our newest addition to the maximum height challenge..
Nice work Paul!! (7)
Anyone who can build a tower taller than they are gets an award
:)

The award for creativity this week definitely goes to....
The Leaning Tower of People- (I'm assuming this was a joint effort from the Whites)
height- 17.5"
The award for best photography goes to...
The Deceptively Tall Tower (also from the Whites)
actual height ... 33.5"
(I think we will give Ridge the funny face award)
The award for tallest tower goes to...

Dallin, Ben and Kate
Height- 6 ft!!

They surprised me with their resourceful use of a Lego piece that allows small Legos to attach to big Legos thus maximizing their resources.  Nice work kiddos :)

#7 Maximum Height

This week we are going to challenge your ability to build a free-standing structure (it can't be leaning against anything) that is as tall as possible. The only supplies you can use are Legos (no strings, glue, tape, etc).
When you take a picture you may want to include something for perspective. Also if you can include a measurement of height from base of your creation to top then we can compare and see who has the tallest overall creation.
Remember that families can work together if they want to- we don't want anyone running out of Legos.

2-D

Sorry for the long lapse in challenges- we went on a 2 week vacation and, unfortunately, our internet was practically non-existent. Then the aftermath of 2 weeks without parents meant some serious recovery time :)

Sooo..
You had LOTS of time to finish your creations.

Here is what we have so far for this challenge.

Hunter (130

This is the joint efforts of Brooke, Talon, and Ridge-

 Ben (9) Ship
 Dallin (12) Tree
Caleb (5) The American Flag

This week we are exploring another dimension :)  The 2nd Dimension.
Our challenge is to create something that is 2-D (not to be confused with tooty of course)
An object that only has two dimensions (such as width and height) and no thickness.
