Challenge #4 Tool

This week we will be building a Tool.

As defined by Merriam Webster a tool is "a handheld device that aids in accomplishing a task."
Hmmm...
What task might we want to accomplish?  And what might aid us in accomplishing it???

MONOCHROMATIC

Although you might imagine something that is one color would be boring, with a little creativity and imagination our builders came up with some great ideas...

**Although technically there are several colors each individual Lego is monochromatic

**It looks like Hunter and Dallin were on the same wave length-

You know what they say about great minds.

Challenge #3 MONOCHROMATIC

This week's challenge is a big word, but should be simple enough to make.  

Mono=meaning one and chromatic= meaning color.  

So look around and choose something that is one color or something you think should be one color and 

CREATE!!

Challenge #2 Your Favorite Book

This weeks assignment is to build something from your favorite book. This could be a character, a scene, or just something that reminds you of the book in some way.  Be sure to include your first name, age, and brief description about your creation.

Challenge #1- Create a Vehicle

For all of those motivated Lego builders we will give you your first challenge a little early this week.

Create a Vehicle- A mobile machine that transports passengers or cargo.

Easy right? I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Welcome to Lego Challenge 2014

With the dawning of a new year we are excited to try something new.  This year we invite you to join us as we explore new ideas, build new creations, and share these things with all of our family and friends. So whether you are a Lego expert or just a novice looking for something to do join us as we put our creativity to work.

Here are the details:
1. Each weekend in 2014 we will post a new Lego Challenge.
2. Some time that week complete the challenge and send me a picture of your creation (clarkelego@gmail.com). Please include your name (first only), age, and title or brief description of your creation.
3. That weekend I will post all of the pictures and you can come back to see what everyone else created and find out what the next challenge will be.

The only rule is that your creation should not be from a kit, but something you made from your imagination. Families can work together or separately. Videos are welcome for you tech savvy/advanced Lego builders.  All ages are invited, including dads (if you are over 18 and you can't remember exactly how old you are, just post the age you feel- with an asterisk).

So when the "I'm bored" comments start surfacing put your energy into something fun and creative and share it with us!
